Kunszt Wodny in Gdansk
Kunszt Wodny in Gdansk | Urban Space
„Kunszt Wodny” (pump station) located in Gdansk on the Radunia canal operated in the years 1539–1852. west side of the Main City, more or less opposite the Upland Gate. In 1584, it was moved to the vicinity of today's Targ Rakowy.
Matthaeus Deisch's drawings show that in the middle of the 18th century, the Water Craft had the shape of a four-story tower in the Baroque style. Currently, in the place of the historic Water Crafts, there is a building of the same name with the address Targ Rakowy 11. The „Wasserkunst” in Gdansk was a unique building and was considered (next to the Wisloujscie Fortress) to be one of the largest and most worth seeing curiosities of the city's surroundings.
