Combined with the captainĀ“s extensive years of experience, both in terms of sailing and teaching onboard of traditional tall ships, you will get an exceptionally fun and challenging experience. The crew is not that numerous, so we are dependent on your help with the sails if we are to travel by the wind as we strive for. You will quickly see how energetic the crew and captain become once we hoist the sails. Schooners are fore-and-aft rigged sailing vessels with at least two masts; the after mast is the same height or taller than the foremast. Three-masted schooners were also called tern schooners. The only 7 masted schooner was the Thomas W. Lawson. More commonly found in the latter half of the 19th and early 20th century coastal trade were 4 and 5 masters. A few six masters were built. www.sv-linden.com
