Kunszt Wodny is to become a cultural and tourist showcase of the city. A modern, open space has been planned, accessible to everyone and inviting to enter.
Among the most important rooms there will be an „open space” on the ground floor, an auditorium, three training rooms, exhibition spaces, a bookstore, and a cafe. Offices for employees are also planned on the first floor.
The attraction of the facility is to be a model of the modern downtown of Gdansk placed on the ground floor. It's the perfect place to start a trip around Gdansk - for tourists, as well as an interesting way to learn about the history of the city for residents. Next to it, there will be a Cultural Information Point.
In the entrance corridor, you will also be able to see a fragment of the wall excavated during archaeological research preceding the construction of the Forum Gdansk - the remains of the Gothic wall, an element of the former water craftsmanship. The new name of the facility refers to the former pumping station called Kunszt Wodny, which operated here from the mid-16th century to around the mid-19th century.
Fragments of the original buildings from the 16th century discovered during archaeological excavations will be exhibited in the building.
